    Silent Witness

It's a bleak night tonight as the half-naked body of a 12-year-old boy is discovered, floating in a drainage ditch near his school. While all eyes turn towards the school principal, the Force learns that another boy is missing, feared to be at the mercy of a paedophile. As with most British crime, it's a painfully sanitised approach, so steel yourself for a fairly unpleasant tale.

    8.30pm Friday on ABC1.

An Audience with the Cast of Chicago

Caroline O'Connor, Sharon Millerchip, Craig McLachlan and Gina Riley sit down to discuss their stage production with a celeb audience of their peers including Geraldine Turner (who starred in the 1981 Sydney Theatre Company production), Peta Toppano, Mark Trevorrow and Simon Westaway. Producer John Frost is also in the audience. It's followed by the premiere of Barry Manilow: Live From Las Vegas with a star-turn of showstoppers from Mr. Showbiz.

    7.30pm Saturday on Bio Channel.

    Desperate Housewives

And if you hadn't already heard, tonight a major character meets their demise, which is technically more significant than the death of Mary Alice or Rex Van Der Kamp. Gotta hand it to Marc Cherry, I never thought this five-year leap was a wise move, but it's been consistent fun.

    8.30pm Monday on Seven.

    The Boy Business

It must be the week for it. This grim documentary from the UK looks at the sexual exploitation of homeless children from the streets of London to the brothels of Amsterdam. Preying on those so weak, these perpetrators are a nasty piece of work, but the Paedophilia Unit of New Scotland Yard has high tech equipment and networks to infiltrate underground rings. Some of the footage is tough, including images of children who are maliciously convinced to protect their abductors. Harrowing stuff.

9.30pm Wednesday on Crime & Investigation Network

    Saved

For this short-lived US drama centred around a paramedic, tonight's plot sees a full moon bringing out the worst in everyone, including a dead man who appears to have fallen from the sky, a paramedic impostor, and a homophobic lunatic who reigns terror on a gay bar. Unpreviewed, and I have no problem with that.

    12am Thursday on Seven.

    Grey's Anatomy

I've always been very sceptical of this medico-soap. I can feel myself being manipulated with its adult contemporary soundtrack poured over emotional scenes. This year they went and excised Dr Hahn (Brooke Smith), re-tooled Melissa George from lesbian to bisexual (with little to show for it), have kept T.R. Knight as an also-ran, but allowed Callie (Sara Ramirez) to explore her sexuality. Tonight she introduces her current squeeze Arizona (Jessica Capshaw) to her father. He doesn't react so well, possibly taking his cue from an ABC network executive or two?
