People Living with HIV/AIDS Victoria would like to express a heartfelt thanks to the patrons and organisers of the Adopt-a-Bear Auction held on Saturday 13 June at Sircuit Bar. PLWHA Victoria's Emergency and Distress Fund will receive half of the $10,659.75 raised on the night, money that will be used to provide direct financial support to people living with HIV. The Emergency and Distress Fund is specially targeted for people in immediate financial need – it goes towards basic needs like paying utility bills and buying food for positive people living on the pension or other government benefits. These are some of the most vulnerable people in our community and these funds will significantly boost our ability to assist the growing number of people in need. The generosity of the community in getting behind such an important cause is to be applauded. Our special thanks go to the Sircuit boys (Chris, Steve and Dale in particular) and all those involved in organising and hosting such a great event. Paul Kidd President, PLWHA Victoria
