WINE OF THE MONTH
The Katnook Founder’s Block range

It’s nice when a winery produces a well-rounded selection of wines that complement each other yet have individual characteristics.

South Australia’s Katnook Founder’s Block range produces a Chardonnay, Cab Sav, Sav Blanc, Sparkling Shiraz, Merlot and a Shiraz – all at reasonable prices. The winery states its wines are “supple, fruit forward wines for immediate enjoyment” and they’re right. Especially good were the Chardonnay and Sav Blanc, going down easily with our Good Friday fish, the Shiraz complementing our Easter Sunday lamb.

Katnook Founder's Block wines are named after the original land holding of John Riddoch, founder of Coonawarra, and represent remarkable value for those looking for a wine with the stamp of Coonawarra.
